EDFC was founded in 1995 through the efforts of the County of Mendocino and the four incorporated jurisdictions: Willits, Ukiah, Point Arena, and Fort Bragg. Our purpose is as relevant today as it was in 1995: to provide a collaborative approach to economic development and to provide an alternative source of financing to Mendocino County businesses that are unable to access bank financing.

AEDC was created in 1978 by a group of Arcata business and community leaders to help grow the city's economy through assistance to local businesses and homeowners. Today, AEDC is a 501c3 non-profit organization and a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). AEDC's mission is to provide loans and support to entrepreneurial, innovative business and community endeavors. AEDC provides financing for business opportunities in Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Lake, Siskiyou and Trinity Counties, and sometimes Shasta County, in Northern California.

The Lake County Economic Development Corporation is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation established in 1983. The corporation is managed by a nine-member board of directors, representing county, city, and private sector interests. The corporation is funded by public grants and private contributions. The day to day work of the corporation is performed on a contract basis.

The County of Humboldt CAO’s Office of Economic Development serves as Humboldt County’s resource center for economic, business, and workforce development. The department serves residents, job seekers, employers, entrepreneurs, startups and established businesses.

We serve small businesses in Del Norte County in California and Curry and Coos Counties in Oregon. Most businesses are eligible , provided job generation requirements are met. Business start ups, expansions, inventory, equipment and working capital are eligible uses of RLF funds provided they are adequately collateralized.
